Nothing is perfect, naturally, nor is this watch: (1) plastic wrist band is utterly disposable--but cheap to replace; (2) luminosity quickly fades. After about six months I could expect about 30 minutes of nighttime readability. Some reviews praise this feature so perhaps new editions have better glow stuff; (3) one or both buttons will eventually stick from sweat and general grunge. Fix? Small amount of silicone lube, then work the button for a while. PROS:
1) comfortable watch to wear: as other reviewers point out, it feels well balanced despite it's physical size.

2) Fits well, even for smaller wrist sizes: the material, shape of the band and its width all work to make this a comfortable watch.

3) Titanium backing (lightweight and resists corrosion).

4) The tide and moon functions seem to be fairly accurate and are fun/useful to have readily available.

5) Really, it's not that bulky when compared to many other watches. For example it's comparable to a self winding analog watch.

CONS:
1) It's bulk is felt if you wear it with tight fitting sleaves (such as knitted wrists on a jacket).

2) The booklet that comes with it is a little tedius to use (small pages and print), which may be why some people found it difficult to set up. However, you can easily find a .pdf file on the Internet that is full size and easier to read.

My old watch gave up the ghost recently so it was time to find another. Digital watches lack the elegance of mechanical-jewelry-type or traditional watches. I figured it would be fun to get a digital watch which would make up for these shortfalls. The Casio PAW1500 fits the bill quite nicely. Imagine keeping perfect time with its WWV receiver. How about the compass, altimeter, barometer,tide, and moonphase? They all work pretty well,not quite perfect, but pretty well. For fun I use most of the functions daily. As for the thermometer it has some limitations. If you really must know the air temp. you'll need to take it off your warm wrist for several minutes which is unfortunate. All the other typical features like stop watch, world time etc. perform as you'd expect. The alarm works well except it is not nearly as loud as my old watch. Overall I like this watch a lot but gave it 4 instead of 5 stars for the above mentioned imperfections.
