A refs worst fear is accidently stopping match time. The recessed start button solves that problem. Once started the game clock can not be stopped prematurely. The supplementary chrono can be stopped/started; but the display of neither timers can be saved to show-off PR's; prove actual injury time, or show that the full match time was met when quizzed by your assessor or when summoned to the tournament director's trailer. After the match when you toggle out of "referee mode", the timing displays of scoreboard time and actual time, or your new PR if running, is erased.
